Me (m/20) and my significant other (f/20) went into this relationship with some kind of silent understanding that we'd eventually become an open relationship. I haven't really had much chance to really explore my sexuality, and she has always favored women over men. Knowing this and how much I love her, I didn't want to end up losing her in the long run because she longs for something she can't have. And that got me thinking about how monogomy is an infringement upon free will and essentially turns others into possessions.
So we've been talking polyamory, she's already talking about girls/guys she thinks are cute and its odd to hear these things and have them not upset me. I feel I'm truly seeing her for her full potential even though we haven't taken any real steps to act on it.
I feel a larger draw towards the emotional aspect, since monogomy makes you feel "wrong" for breaking down certain barriers with more than one person at a time. Now when I find someone interesting I can actually persue a deeper connection and find out how they tick
