Hi. I am interested in finding a friendship that could possible lead to a relationship. I am shy and not very experience in relationships. I am looking but am worried that I am not giving out the correct signals.

Why do you feel you are giving out the wrong signals? What signals do you want to give out?

I like your approach of doing the friendship first thing - so many people try to skip that part - friendships have been the foundations of the best relationships I have had!

Seems like you are headed in the right direction by putting yourself out there... you'll find someone in due time. *clears throat* Hi, there!

Well, instead of giving signals that need to be interpreted, you can actually communicate directly and clearly what you want.

Examples:
"I like hanging out with you!"
"I think we can be friends."
"You're fun to be with."
"I like you."
"I'd like to get together with you sometime and do ___."
"You're my best friend."

"I want to get to know you better."
"Your friendship means a lot to me."
"I'm attracted to you."
"I'd like to see if we can have more than a friendship."
"I think we really work well together."

"I'm interested in seeing you long-term."
"You mean a lot to me."
"I feel like I can commit to this."
"I love you."

Yup, I'm with nycindie - trying to hide messages means that they can be misinterpreted, and the secret to good relationships is good, clear communication, so why not start that off right form the beginning?
