Default Exploring, learning, and liking!

Hello all!

We are a husband (34 ) and wife (31) in the north central Texas (DFW) area and have been discussing the poly lifestyle for several months and have explored a bit and are looking to expand further. This is something we are both very interested in -- turns out we both have been for some time, we were just hesitant to admit it to one another until about seven months ago, and were both surprised and ecstatic when it came up and we were open about it -- and are starting to take active steps to find like-minded people. We are just kinda unsure exactly where/how to start.

Wife found this forum and suggested it to husband a few days ago, and here we are! Joined today and so far the things we have read in the different threads have answered some questions that we had so this looks like it was a good place to turn to help in our learning. So far, the things we have read in the different threads have answered some questions that we had so this looks like it was a good place to turn to help in our learning.

We talked this out at length before starting to really actively look into the lifestyle, and had to make sure that this was something we both really wanted to try before actively starting to explore. We have learned quite a bit about each other during this process, and have found that we are even closer now and have much more trust and a tighter bond now that we know we can be open with each other about anything. We have found things now excite us that before, because of insecurity issues (with ourselves and each other), would have scared us to death. We have enjoyed the road so far, and fully expect to continue enjoying our journey!

Any advice will gladly be taken into account, and any tips on how to proceed in finding genuine people (not internet scammers and crazies) in our area are all welcome! Thanks and have a great evening!

Welcome to the forum. This area is for introductions which you did but maybe you can also post on our other area which is more for finding people in a specific area. You might investigate if there are poly groups that meet locally that you can find local resources.

As for avoiding scams and such... there's no hard and fast rule you know? If it seems too good to be true it probably might be. Don't let your hormones and your emotions get the best of you.

Good luck!
