Talking poly brit

I'm a new member to the forum. Yay!

I have been married close to 10 years, and poly for the past two and a half. The wife and I started out as a long distance relationship, before I finally took the plunge and moved to Chicago in 2002. From the beginning, we talked about the possibility of an open marriage, but never acted upon it. In the meantime, we started a family, moved around the suburbs, and eventually acquired a mortgage.

I have now been dating my girlfriend for over two years, and more recently, started a relationship with her house mate (or as they like to call themselves, hetero-life-mates). Both ladies are single, poly, and involved in other relationships. We are just one part of a long complex chain of relationships (a polymer?) that extends from Chicago to Indianapolis.

Welcome aboard.

When speaking of various forms of non-monogamy...it ain't poly if you're just fucking around.

While polyamory, open relationships, and swinging are all distinctly different approaches to non-monogamy, they are not mutually exlusive. Folks can, and some do, engage in more than one of them at a time--and it's all good.
