Default Hello from Denver

My wife and I are in a committed and happy marriage with 2 young kids. We've done the swinging thing a fair amount over the last few years and are both considering what something more significant might be like. Other than CL, I have no idea how to find people who might be interested in exploring something in more depth and I haven't really appreciated those I've found on CL--too much emphasis on immediate sex rather than long term relationship-building. Certainly would love advice from anyone who's made the leap from swinging to polyamory.

The "leap" is from not-love to love. It's that simple.

Welcome aboard.
When speaking of various forms of non-monogamy...it ain't poly if you're just fucking around.

While polyamory, open relationships, and swinging are all distinctly different approaches to non-monogamy, they are not mutually exlusive. Folks can, and some do, engage in more than one of them at a time--and it's all good.
