Default Still exploring

Hi all,

I am quite new to polyamory, but am curiously exploring. It is such a multi-faceted lifestyle, and a new world has opened for me :-)

Thanks Smiles,

It is both exciting and scary, but I think I have been leaning toward polyamory for quite some time without actually having realized it.

One of my main worries is how family and friends will react...

Hi Jens1968 from a fellow newbie!
You are aboslutely right it can be very exciting and scary at the same time. Maybe the 'scary' is part of what makes it exciting, lol.
There seems to be plenty of nice people here to support and answer any questions you may have.
Good luck and hope to see you around!

Welcome! I'm new myself. I am interested in hearing how others came to know of their interest in polymory. Reece

Greetings Jens1968,
Welcome to our forum. Please feel free to lurk, browse, etc.

Something to consider: Not all polyamorists "come out" to their family, friends, etc.

My polyamorous life is known to almost no one outside "the poly community" (local poly groups and poly forums). My older brother and his wife "sort of know." And are cool about it. And aren't about to spread the word. One of Snowbunny's (Snowbunny is the hinge of the V I'm in) friends basically knows. And is cool about it. But so far we aren't taking any chances with traditional family/friends that might freak over the information. Unfortunately, we have to consider that, too, when a family member would be accepting but would also become a virtual PA system and announce it to the rest of the family.

While deciding if/when/how you'll tell your family and friends, take advantage of Polyamory's vast store of information and read many threads, posting whenever you have a thought or question you want to add.

If you're interested in hearing how I came to know of my interest in polymory, check out my blog.

Sincerely,
Kevin T., "official greeter"

There's a *lot* of good info in Golden Nuggets. Have a look!

Please read through the guidelines if you haven't already.

Note: You needn't read every reply to your posts, especially if someone posts in a disagreeable way. Given the size and scope of the site it's hard not to run into the occasional disagreeable person. Please contact the mods if you do (or if you see any spam), and you can block the person if you want.

If you have any questions about the board itself, please private-message a mod and they'll do their best to help.

Welcome aboard!
