Default Is there anything I can say...

I have recently fallen for a close friend of mine. He is a very dear friend to both myself and my partner. I know he cares very deeply for me too. Every time I leave him our hugs get longer. The last couple times we have ended up kissing. We have both expressed how we feel for each other and he knows that my partner and I are poly but yet he is still very hesitant. He doesn't know if he can have a more than platonic relationship with me and still be friends with my partner. Is there anything I can say to help him along? He means a lot to me. I will gladly just be his friend if he can't get over this but it will break my heart a little.

Welcome to the forum.

Your friend can probably get past it if her wants to. Do you know what specific hang-up is causing him to figure that he couldn't be friends anymore your partner? Does he have trouble with the idea of sharing? Or is he just stuck in the monogamy script which says that he's not supposed to?

How did I get here & Where am I going?
