Hello,
I'm the poly half of a newly-minted mono/poly relationship. I've been married for about a year after being engaged for three years. I've known I was poly for over a year. After trying to suppress my interests, or hoping they'd just disappear with time, I finally came out to my husband. He was remarkably positive about it all, and we are in the very early stages of testing our new mono/poly status. I know it will likely be a rocky road, but I'm very hopeful that with enough care we can make a mono/poly relationship work. Looking forward to lurking and posting in discussions on this forum.

Welcome aboard.

When speaking of various forms of non-monogamy...it ain't poly if you're just fucking around. While polyamory, open relationships, and swinging are all distinctly different approaches to non-monogamy, they are not mutually exlusive. Folks can, and some do, engage in more than one of them at a time--and it's all good. |
