Talking New HERE and not new to the IDEA of polyamory

Hi to all! What a wonderful resource this forum has to offer for some of us that have been sitting on the fence for QUITE sometime. Thank you! I am the hetro female in a relationship with the hetro male of this 23 year old relationship. We celebrate our ability of still being together through all the ups and downs we've experienced. But man oh man - we also realize that we've come out of these experiences with a lot of transformation and we're not arrogant enough to say that "we have arrived". I know I'm still trying to process my identity within the poly world and love that there is a place to sort this out. My partner is closer to being Mono and he himself is working through jealousy issues and has read articles coming from this forum about compersion. Again, thanks again for offering such a forum!!

Welcome aboard.

When speaking of various forms of non-monogamy...it ain't poly if you're just fucking around.

While polyamory, open relationships, and swinging are all distinctly different approaches to non-monogamy, they are not mutually exlusive. Folks can, and some do, engage in more than one of them at a time--and it's all good.
