By the strict definition, polyamory can simply be described as having more than one (sexual) relationship at a time
Well, that settles that then.

I replied to her in great detail. It was ignored. But hi-hum, this new article makes up for it a little.

The fact is that OPP are sexist. They assume that a woman is not a sexual or romantic threat and therefore poses no danger to a heterosexual relationship in the way a man would. Any arrangement where the women are forbidden to have other (especially male) partners rather than them choosing not to because of their own religious, cultural or social beliefs and desires do privilege men over women. Of course, it's up to individuals to state whether their "harem" set up is something they want or something that has been enforced by their partner and it is wrong to decide for other people how their set up came about but polygamy, for the most part, is misogynistic. That doesn't mean to say that a woman couldn't choose to be in some sort of poly network that revolves around one man whilst they remain monogamous or shag the women.
