Based on the responses that were posted here, I didn't see any "side choosing". In fact, I saw just the opposite and no one disputed that the lying was wrong. However, as most people here don't know you personally, you will get a more broad base of opinions, without the emotions that come with being so close to the issue. Most people on this board want to actually help relationships work. The posters were giving YOU advice about what they saw as your role and how you could deal with it and move forward.
