I'm a long-term poly-type person (twenty-three years and counting) with two spouses, two small kidlets, a mortgage, and three middle-aged cats. My lovely, intelligent, talented and far-too-good-for-me spouses and I have been together for about a decade, and the two of them are going on fourteen years.

I am an anti-Americanism American and a real live genuine Socialist (as opposed to our centrist Democrat president). I have been involved in queer activism and safer sex education since my early twenties. I am presently very active in national and global human rights work. I happily identify as a Very Bad Catholic. Dorothy Day, bell hooks, and my VERY Republican father are three of my heroes.

I always tell Republicans who say that Pres. Obama is a socialist (let alone a capital-S Socialist), that they've obviously never spoken with one. No offense to them, but we socialist folks don't even consider the president a distant fellow traveler. *laugh*

Bless my dad, as he's a Republican who actually knows his political theory. He and my libertarian sister have kept me sane.
