Tucson, AZ recommendations?

I’m going on a trip to Tucson, AZ for a week in July with no particular itinerary except to attend a friend’s wedding and then relax as much as possible. I’ll be staying at a hostel in the heart of the city and plan to do most of my exploring there, though I might rent a car for a day and go see the Grand Canyon.

Anyone wanna share recommendations on things to see, places to visit, cool eateries, kickass clubs, what-have-you? I’ll be looking at guidebooks too of course, but I’d much rather have personal recommendations. I’m interested in a wide range of things, so I’m really open to any ideas whatsoever. That said, art, plants, kinksters, and queers are a few of my particular interests.

Thank you!!

You will probably need a car to do much. Western cities are a lot more spread out. As for stuff to do, Tombstone is not far from Tucson. It's touristy - I enjoyed it but I like history stuff. The Saguaro forest - forest of big cactuses - is also really cool and near Tucson. Have fun!
