Saving money

In December, on another thread ( http://www.polyamory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1634 ) I mentioned that I'd learned some things about saving money, and offered to share what I'd learned. Another member took me up on my offer, so once the holidays passed, I wrote out some ideas. It occurs to me that other folks may be interested, too, especially with the holiday bills coming due. So if that is the case, I could post what I've got so far as a starter and we could go from there.

So, who's interested in sharing ideas for saving money?

Simplicity

Hi Fidelia,

It made me think of a book (2nd revision 2009) I just picked up the other day.
It's basically adding to and updating an old theme that emerged in the 70's commonly called "Voluntary Simplicity".
It's quite amazing when we step back and start to analyze our buying patterns with a filter of "Do I actually NEED this ?" how much money starts to get saved.
Current 'consumerism' culture works so hard to convince us that we 'need" all manner of stuff that when really analyzed - we don't.

I've been an advocate of it for many years so if you weren't already aware of it, it might be worth checking out.
