This is a touchy area but I agree on some levels. If your gut feeling lead you to think there was something being "hidden" and you gave in to those suspicions resulting in a "nosey" act which in turn did turn up something, you all have contributed to this.

The fact that you broke trust does not negate the information uncovered if there was some. This is not a court of law where evidence is not admissable..it's still valid and needs to be dealt with.

Both of your trusts were broken it sounds like. Don't let that go undealt with.
