Lol. Probably so. I know there are some from Canada/US that are different enough to create some laughable conversations too.
I think age, geography, education level and educational topic (a lawyer versus a psychologist for example), race, all impact how certain words are used/defined.
I can almost never think up an example off the top of my head. But-when I am reading along, or visiting another locale and hear one-it's obvious to me.
