Joined over a year ago, first post!

My name is Tim, I apparently joined this site over a year ago, after my girlfriend of 6 years and I split up. It was during that relationship that I discovered I was poly, and after we broke up I decided that I wasn't going to do the monogamous thing again.

Dated a girl for a month(ish) and broke up with her when I figured out she was crazy.

Met my current girlfriend of over a year (as of Mar 15th) shortly after breaking up with crazy, and was completely up-front about being poly - lo and behold, she was too! Well, sorta. We met through a mutual friend, actually. Long story short, the relationship with mutual friend sort of imploded. In any case, we dated more or less monogamously for the majority of our first year, and spent a lot of time learning about one another and how we individually felt about polyamory. Having more or less gotten ourselves sorted out, she has recently started dating another guy. I'm excited for her, because it seems to working pretty well and I do compersion pretty well. :) She actually just joined this site, showed it to me, and as I was going to register the site reminded me that I'd already registered. :p

I've started looking for a secondary girl for me and/or a triad relationship with us, but that's not really a priority for me at the moment - if I meet someone interesting, great, if not -

I expect I'll be poking around here from time to time, so that's it in a nutshell.

I'm impressed you could remember your username and password after so long.

I couldn't - I use the same username but different passwords for everything, so I guessed.

:D

Then the site sent me the correct password and I went from there.

You wouldn't - by any slight chance - be the girlfriend, would you? [Welcome to you both!;)]

You not up for a triad with this man she's already found for you?

Welcome aboard.

Yep, what she said. ;)

In my mind, a triad is a situation where all three people are dating one another, across the triangle. Everyone's definition differs, and I suppose I'll learn what the common consensus is here on this board, but that's my thought.

From another point of view, we're already a triad, but I consider our relationship to be more of a "vee" with Oshun being the point.

Dunno if it's just semantics or what, though.

Thanks!
