Tarot cards

Hi all,
If any of you are into tarot and know of some really cool decks, please post which ones you like and why. I'm looking for alternatives to the oft-used Rider-Waite-Smith, for a potential project. The more odd and avant-garde the better, but even if they follow the RWS closely, let me know what it is you like about them.

Thanks!

I always liked the Crowley set I had as a kid

Since you aren't being traditionalist about such things, I'd check out the Hollywood Tarot. I think it utilizes icons that can reach some people more than other types. I also like the DIY aspect, and think it can lead to stronger readings.

They aren't for everyone, but check them out.

I adore the Wildwood deck. The art draws one in as well as being beautiful. The archetypes work for me - I generally don't care for the more traditional tarot imagery and archetypes.

Here is a link to my favorite card from the deck 'Joy' - http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...Ox0529xCiwWx4U

Here is a link describing the deck with some card images http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/wildwood/ Also that website - www.aeclectic.net - has so many different tarot decks listed. It's fun to check out!

I have a few decks. My favorites are my Jasmine Becket Griffith, they are beautiful but a little difficult to handle and My voodoo deck because they were my first and a gift from my dad. :)
I have a third deck that I actually use but I don't have them on me and don't remember the name of them.

My favorite deck is The Celtic Tarot by Julian De Burgh. I love the imagery and the feel of it.

Some great suggestions so far! Thanks, and keep 'em coming.

I'm hoping to find a non-traditional deck that isn't too cartoonish or strongly thematic, and does not just rework Rider-Waite-Smith with different colors or something.

I am finding myself drawn to the Haindl deck, and loving the imagery
i've seen so far on the few cards they show on their publisher's site and aeclectic.com (wish I could see more):

I use the Viking Tarot deck By Manfredi Toraldo & Sergio Tisselli

I use the Herbal Tarot when reading for the general public or for friends. It's pretty generic and safe looking for people who are not used to tarot imagery.

For myself, I will use the Witches Tarot. Uses some Kabbalah symbolism and the artwork is similar but not always the same as Rider Waite.

Crowley Thoth Deck has some really beautiful and powerful imagery as well.

If you want to see lots of decks with some of the artwork you can go to LLewellyn.com. They have a deck for anyone, including dragons, fairies, sexual magic, the Kamasutra and even Klimt!
