Trying poly to stay with a poly partner

I'm curious to hear experiences of people who believed they were monogamous but challenged themselves to try a polyamorous love approach in order to make themselves comfortable with a poly partner.

Good and bad, share them all. No I'm not talking about swinging or casual sex but forming a true relationship involving physical intimacy in order to understand the nature of the person they love. Did it add understanding; did it take away from the relationship you were trying to enhance?

Let's have it folks, there has got to be some one out there who has:D

And no, I'm not challenging myself..I'm hopelessly monogamous and a complete sexual prude in so many ways LOL! ..me and Redpepper are so in love we practically share organs...well sometimes:)

Mono, my mono wife is going thru this, trying to accommodate myself and our best friend of 20 years. I know she's joined here but not commented yet. She may have something to add to the discussion but it can be tough to drag it out of her! I'll try!
