Hello Everyone,

I'm new to Polyamory.com forum. I'm 35, single and live in Los Angeles. I've been interested in learning more about Polyamory and hope to meet a few women that would love to be in a great relationship.

I guess this is more of an underground lifestyle as I know no one who who is into polyamory, at least they won't admit it to you. What has been your experience with others when and if you told them about your poly lifestyle?

So I'm here to meet new people and hopefully meet the ones that i spend my life with.

I imagine in LA it is quite easy to find poly folk, provided you know where to look. There are poly folk in most places and LA is quite large enough to have a large poly community. Here's a Yahoo! group for SoCal poly folk: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoCalPoly/

I'll also point out that there's no need to find women who openly identify as poly. Simply find women you find attractive and if you get involved, discuss it with them. Some will be offended, and that's OK as you know then that relationship won't work in a poly setting. Others will be unwilling to engage in poly ties, yet accepting of the idea. Others will be willing to try. Others will be actively poly or poly-curious and happy to find somebody else who is poly. Any of them might also introduce you to other poly people.

I've not had any problems crop up when I've mentioned that I'm poly. Some of the folks who had never heard of it were a bit incredulous. The rest were accepting, as they all kept speaking to me after that. Those who know other poly folk didn't bat a lash.
