Greetings from Ohio!

I joined a couple days ago, and admittedly will likely remain a bit of a lurker (tons to read here!) for a while, but felt I should take the time to introduce myself.

As some general background on me, I'm a business owner in the tech industry. I've been married to my college sweetheart (and best friend) for over 15 years now, and we have two munchkins which are assuredly the center of my universe. :-) Being a partner in the firm, I do tend to work a lot of hours, but thankfully I've been able to leave the travel to others. I did a decent amount of it during the years prior to having the kids, so I've served my time.

Many years back my wife and I explored some swinging - some with couples, and some simply including very select single guys. We had some very good times, but stopped as we made the decision to start the having kids process. Just before stopping, we met a really nice couple that we did enjoy a few intimate encounters with. A good friendship developed there, and through a series of events, I began to join them myself for some 3sum play - all with my wife's knowledge and consent.

That specific relationship lasted for over 5 years, though my wife never joined us again even after the kids were born. She always knew she was welcome, but simply has not ever had the interest. A very deep relationship developed between the other wife and myself, again with the full knowledge of our respective spouses. We never officially "classified" ourselves as being in a poly relationship nor even set out with that in mind, but looking back there's no other way to describe it. It was a great experience, though sadly it had to come to an end last year.

After some reading here, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one in this kind of situation - where my spouse is quite happily mono, but I am poly. My relationship with her absolutely comes first - she's my best friend, my life partner, and mother to my children. If my poly interests were ever an issue for her, I'd leave them behind without question. Thankfully though, she's been very accepting and understanding to let me be who I am.
