What if?

What if? is a poem written -- beginning now -- by any who arrive here to add a line. One at a time.... What if? may rhyme at times, but break from that at other times....

What if? is serious play, and playful seriousness. And now begins What if?

[Please do not be shy! Everyone is a poet. Just FEEL and SENSE the emergence of the rhythms and textures of the first line, the second line, the two together, the first three... and wherever it is at, just be SPONTANIOUS in a PLAYFUL way, light, yet "serious" enough, but no more. This is play! So play.]

What if the sands on the bank of a nameless river?

Contained the voices of those who have gone before?

What if the soul of a giver

surrenders to the soul of a Taker

What if that icy-cold shiver

[MonoVCPHG]

is the one you wake up beside.

A quiet voice whispers to you...

and with that whisper screams into the dark corners of your soul

Echoes with a feeling, you long thought forgotten

draped in scars it lies in wait

What if the river washed stones shown the sun

but to see their beauty meant blindness. Would you look?

You wonder now- do this I KNOW - or did it come from a book

Do you regret thoughts spoken aloud, and words you can't take back ?

And what of the oughts spoken in crowds, read from the pen of a hack?

Do you accept them as truth or no that they're not

What if every word uttered was truth?
